Love & It's Placement - Upcoming Beach Updates

Understanding Love and its placement is a profound idea that goes beyond simple emotion; it involves a conscious decision about where we direct our focus and energy. This deliberate approach to love can shape our experiences and relationships, leading us to deeper connections and understanding. Hate shows up when we refuse to see within. If a person cannot sit with their own shadow, they unconsciously hand it to someone else. The moment they cast themselves as pure, or right, the psyche looks for a tyrant to hold the traits they refuse to see within. Is the tyrant really a disowned part of the self?

Realizing that love is a choice empowers us to nurture it in various areas of our lives, whether in relationships, self-acceptance, or interactions with the world around us.

Humility is crucial in our spiritual growth. I'm reluctantly grateful for my mistakes because they are the lessons that teach me the hard. I say reluctantly because I'm my worse critic, and I do unfortunately still make the same mistake more than once, but approaching our journeys with an open heart and a willingness to learn, we can turn our mistakes into stepping stones toward greater wisdom. I do know that I am at a stage that I recognize where I went wrong, and if I don't see it, man the universe shows me who's boss.

Words can inspire and guide, but they can never fully replace the richness of lived experiences. True understanding often arises from engaging with life directly, allowing us to internalize lessons in a way that theory alone cannot provide. This experiential learning deepens our wisdom and prepares us to share our insights with others when we are ready. Sit by the water and listen. Sit under the sky and listen. Sit and just listen.

Beyond Asanas: The Essence of Yoga, often seen as merely a physical practice of asanas (postures), encompasses much more than body movements. Please don't feel discouraged if you can't physically do the whole practice. That isn't the point. When you can't or don't want to do a posture or flow, be very thoughtful and go into a different space of understanding the emotion that got bundled up in it. When you accept the ability to choose what you will not do or are at a point you can not do is absolute power and wisdom. No longer are you following blindly the crowd but you remember you are autonomous. Yoga is holistic approach to understanding yourself and the world around you. So dream a little dream. Many practitioners find that the true essence of yoga lies in its ability to cultivate awareness, foster connection, and promote inner peace. As we delve deeper into our practice, we uncover layers of understanding that enrich our lives far beyond the mat. The journey of love, humility, and spiritual growth is intertwined with our willingness to embrace our humanity.

Beach Updates

On Friday, I had an opportunity to speak with one of the beach coordinators. He informed me that the work on the North end of the beach, where we typically practice, is now complete. Starting Monday, we can return to our usual spot for practice. Beach refurbishing will proceed for a few more weeks to the South of the Vanderbilt Beach entrance beginning Monday. When you arrive at the beach on Monday, please plan to walk to the left so we can practice in front of the tall white condominium again. I always anticipate the unexpected, so be ready to adapt as necessary. Thank you for continuing to practice with us.
