A truth I've been scared to name. Lo's teaching yoga Sunday.

I challenge you to put your habits out in the open, look at them with kind eyes. Are they helping you grow, or are they hiding something in the shadows? Some people (but not us, wink wink) use yoga to push themselves too hard. Some people, but not us, use "healthy" living to escape the joy of living. Some people, but not us, stay in the familiar instead of saying yes to whats new and whats calling. Everyone knows healthy habits are important, but why do they sometimes feel heavy? When you miss a day, do you punish yourself? When you are tired, do you take it out on your loved ones, or continue to be that work horse? Let's be the ones who practice with heart. Who move and breahte not to perfect but to connect. Be the one who knows what it is to be human.
This week has presented some opportunities that at one time I would have jumped up and said yes to, but these opportunities were things I've already done with acccomplishment in the past, but now I've outgrown. The position would perhaps give me more security and promises for more promotions, but it isn't a dream that excites me right now. Instead, I'm blessed enough to have the luxury to say no thank you. I can choose to say yes to other things that will continue to excite me into the unknown. So what is exciting to me?
Next weekend I'm going to study under one of my teachers in Philly, Sadhguru, by myself. There is something powerful to me about going all by myself. It's an opportunity to listen more deeply, to sit in my own shadows, to understand where I've been holding myself back. Something waiting just past my comfort zone, a project, a dream, a truth I've been too scared to name.
So I'm saying Yes, YES to walking into a room alone and know that I belong there. I deserve to be there and I want to be there. Because healthy habits, like yoga, like breath, like stillness, are not about control. They're about connection, about listening, about loosening and leaping when the moment calls. It's the ability to say ok, yes, when another mentor of mine reaches out to me a few days later and says I'm helping you to sign up for Heartcore Leadership, it will help you to achieve your dreams. It's when you stay open enough to let life, spirit and love guide help you. Thank you for being a part of my teachers.
