As the world speeds up this week, where in your body are you being asked to slow down?

As you rest here and take a minute to think about the upcoming week. This week invites more doing, showing up, more hurrying. This past week on the beach, we walked up for class and found this heart made of roses exactly where we practice yoga. Exactly where we had our Full Moon Cerermony with roses last week. Syncronicity, God wink, vortex, what ever you want to call it, but it's so magical and beautiful. Whom ever got engaged congratulations and thank you for sharing your love with the world around you. As we rush around this week look for the beauty and create it too. Leave little love messages around the hurried world that invite people to pause:)

For the next minute, allow yourself to step out of that busy rhythm and look around at the life you have created for yourself.

What are you proud of?

What if this week you can give yourself 5 minutes back. 5 minutes less of obligation, the sherade, and allow 5 minutes more for yourself. Let that time be simple- breathing, being, believing. Really practice "yoga". Remembering that saying yes to too much, is saying no to you.

"What is allowed to rest returns with strength." Ancient Proverb.

I'm guilty as they get, taking care of everything, hyper vigiliant, it's a nervous system state, not a personality flaw. It's what I've conjured up to keep myself and my loved ones safe.

My fatigue is paired with restlessness, feeling guilty. I'm sure some of you can relate or know someone like this. This week I am going to put rose petals in my pocket and leave a few in different places I go, to open up the exchange of joy, love and spirit. I'll report back any fun things that happen along the way.

Reminders to stay in the spirit:

  • Long exhalations

  • Leave nature and people unexpected blessings

  • Gentle humming, singing

  • Go outside and touch skin to the earth (barefoot, gardening)

  • Slow repetitive movement (gentle flow or walking)

  • Pray or meditate

  • Soften the lighting/noise

  • No multi-tasking

  • Let the body rest without "doing rest correctly"

  • Place one hand on the belly and one on the heart, close your eyes

  • Smile, cry, feel, laugh, be authentic

Reminders that there will be no yoga Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Love to all of you.

Lo
